How can I sing this one?

"The thrill is gone?".....No, that one won't work cause the thrill is definitely there.............actually, I kind of feel like that Mervyn's tv commercial (Oops, maybe they aren't a national store, but anyway) there is a lady standing outside the door looking in and saying "open, open, open"...only I'm saying..."waiting, waiting, waiting.." So, here is the scoop on why we are waiting.
It seems as if the wrong windows were delivered to the work site. Now whether it was ordered wrong or shipped wrong.....who knows.....doesn't really matter.....any 'ol who....the wrong windows, so now we are waiting for the RIGHT windows.  Which means...no brick laying will be done UNTIL the right windows are put in. So..........waiting, waiting, waiting....... That is why the only change that you can visibly see is........
drum roll please.................................the SPIRE is complete!!!!!!!

So, until I get the hard hat and steel toed boots..........this is all of the progress for now.

Hey, I just got to thinking...maybe we don't need any brick........just picture this...

Old building, old color

New building, new color.........

We would still be in a coastal color at least.
I'm just saying....................................

A report on one of our missionaries that served here..

Just got a wedding invitation from one of our Elders that served part of his mission here in our wonderful Rockport. Many come and many go.....some keep in touch and some don't...so it is exciting when one of them lets us know what is going on in their lives after the mission.
Lance Porter and his bride-to-be......

For Sale or Lease

Well, the signs are up. The owner against our wishes has put the building up for sale due to the fact that we will vacating it in the fall. So, that's good news, isn't it? As much as we want, like and love the old place, it will be nice to finally have a "permanent" home.
So, here is what you will see when you drive by our present location. Our "temporary" home.

And here is the update on our "permanent" home....coming right on along....

Looks like a lot is going on inside as well as outside. I may have to get my steel toed shoes and hard hat and venture inside...LOL

Talk about Raising the Roof.............

The shingles are on and work seems to be moving right along. The parking lot is being poured slab by slab. The storage building continues being worked on. The dumpster site has been identified with the large guard posts embedded around the site.(Does the dumpster need to be guarded?....Okay, okay, I know what they are really for, LOL )

It is truly exciting to see the changes that are being made and how nicely everything seems to be coming together. Time is speeding by and we will be able to have meetings there before long. Yea..................

Layers and updates.

So, the beginning of this week, I went by and they were putting on another layer of roof. So, we have the initial layer of 4x8 sheets, then the black rolls of material, then strips to form some kind of air pockets, then another layer of 4x8 sheets, then another layer of the black rolls and THEN shingles!!!!
Yea, it is beginning to look like a real building that can and will be finished SOON!
                                               THE BEGINNING OF THE WEEK

Progress continues and the bricks are here as well. Evidently they have set up a model as to "how" it will be in design. I don't know how they "do" these things, but this little wall was at the back of the building about 20 or so feet away under this tree....

BUT WAIT..................................................there's more..................................................

Tucked away from the building is another small structure going up. Looks like the utility building to house the lawn mower and "things". Now, what I am unsure about and a little puzzled is the forms that they are building and looks as if they are going to pour concrete. Now, my question as a roving reporter.....ah, I'm NOT a roving reporter, I am just a curious bystander......is this another pad for something OR is this the parking lot? or what? I just had in the back of my mind that the parking lot would be asphalt, but I don't really know, so.........looks like I will just have to wait and see......................so, until next week on another epilogue...er.....update...... I will continue to view things.....my way.
